Your Fall Maintenance Check List
Posted on: November 5, 2017
Owning a home can seem like a never-ending list of to-dos. Whether it’s yard work or repairs, it might look like they just sneak up on you, but they don’t have to. With regular tune-ups and checks, you can keep your home in order with ease. So here are a few things that should be on your fall maintenance checklist.
Clean Your HVAC Filters
Filters cleaning can vary based on the manufacturer but now is a great season to clean them. Allergy season is here, so the cleaner you keep your filters the better! Don’t forget to check if you should be replacing them too!
Keep Your Cooling System Clean
Your outside unit might be easy to forget about, but don’t! Check and keep the area clean of any debris. Trim any plants or shrubs around the unit and always keep it uncovered. Your system needs room to breath and anything in its way can lead to a significant repair or breakdown.
While you’re in cleaning and repair mode, don’t forget batteries too! Check all fire and carbon monoxide detectors to make sure the batteries are still good and don’t forget to run a test. Typically the batteries should be replaced twice a year and tests should be run every month.
Call a Professional
It’s never a bad thing to get a second opinion or just regular maintenance! Getting a proper tune-up is an excellent way to prevent any significant issues from occurring and can help extend your system’s life.
