Spring & Summer Energy Saving Tips

At Midway Services, we know the importance of keeping a cool and comfortable home. With all the fun that can be had in the Florida sun & although the paradise in which we live is absolutely stunning, the heat can be a burden when it comes to keeping our homes properly ventilated and a welcoming place to be. Don’t let the rising temperatures make you nervous to get that first summer electric bill. We would like to share with you some tips to help you save some energy this summer as well as keep you cool, calm, and collected.

Southwest Florida has a whole lot of sun, but we also have a cool breeze that often sweeps through our beachfront cities! This is a great way to keep your home ventilated throughout the warmer months adn giving your house some fresh air. Open some windows when you are home during the day or maybe once the sun sets at night to cool your home down, naturally. Another tip for your windows is to make sure that they are not letting cool air escape out because of cracks or openings. This is a common problem that many don’t notice until they perform closer inspection of the doors and windows.

Use fans whenever you can to keep your energy bill low, as well. If you set your thermostat to a temperature that is not so far off from the outside, but then bring in some fans or have ceiling fans installed, you will certainly notice that you are saving a ton because your A/C unit doesn’t have to work as hard.

The most important step you can take in the summer, however, is to get your A/C unit properly inspected or have a replacement installed if it is outdated or not working properly. Energy saving starts with a great system that works just as it should – not too much and not too little. If you are in need of A/C repair in Tampa, give us a call today!
