Kitchen Remodeling Tips
Posted on: April 25, 2016
Some have called it the heart of the home, and we would have to agree with them! The kitchen is a very special place in a house and it’s not only for storing and preparing your meals, but often times the kitchen is the place where entertaining happens and family dinners take place. If you are considering redesigning your kitchen space, take into account some of these tips to make the best use of the space and provide maximum function and style. At Midway Services, we have been creating beautiful kitchens for our clients for years and are excited to hear from you about your vision for how we can make your home a little more inviting and useful!
- A great way to maximize your usability of the space that you have in your home is to strategically place kitchen countertops in the most important spaces. It is recommended that at least 15 inches of counter space is next to the refrigerator and the cooktop. Some would also say that this space is necessary near the microwave as well. These spots allow you to have somewhere to pace your food and supplies without having to cross the room to put it down.
- Adding a spot for your knives, such as a knife drawer with slots is a great way to not only keep them organized, but in a safe place and out of the general silverware drawer where kids and guests may be rummaging.
- Think about where you will need outlets in your kitchen when tacking the redesign. Adding plenty of them for your appliances like blenders, coffee makers, and toasters will make cooking much easier.
- Consider the style you like and the way you imagine your home. You are redesigning your kitchen, so be sure that you are not only looking for function but also for beauty so that you will truly love it for years to come.
